8/1/18 Update

SPC outlook posted below. During the afternoon look for thunderstorms to develop, particularly in Western Mass after about 3pm. Some of these storms may be strong, and there could possibly be a spin up out that way. Radar will need to be monitored this afternoon.

As far as our temperatures go, look for temps in the low 80’s with a high dewpoint yet again. (Euro high temps below).Screen Shot 2018-08-01 at 8.38.26 AM

PWAT values (loop below), which are a good proxy for how much moisture there is in the atmosphere, will remain high for the foreseeable future. Some indications that around 8/11, we may see this tropical flow decrease.

7/29/18 Update:

Goes16 Satellite image below showing clear skies currently in most of Eastern Mass, with just some high clouds skirting along the south coast.

Temperatures will be running right around 80 degrees in most of Eastern Mass today. (See below)

Dew points will “drop” to near 60 degrees today. On many days, we would consider these values to be uncomfortable, but after the stretch we have just been through these dew’s should feel much more tolerable. Enjoy it while it lasts (today and tomorrow) because the oppressive dew points come right back at us later this week and last for approx. the next 10 days or so!
